In 2010, JLynn returned to her "roots" in fine arts, after being inspired by a commission she received, to create a Talisman Necklace for someone that was battling cancer. After weeks of looking for a special focal piece, she opted to create her own utilizing her skills and talents in faux painting, scrapbooking and digital art while building upon a popular trend that started in the mid 2000's that involved the repurposing of products such as game tiles (Scrabble/Domino tiles) - and the result...the completion of the "Hope" Talisman necklace, and a new line of Wood components called "Altered ART Tiles"! This of course lead to even more sizes shapes, textures and patterns... And before you knew it...JLynn had created an extensive line of "ART Tiles"! JLynn is known, not only for her Jewelry designs, but for her ART tiles that feature some of her own and other Artists Watercolor paintings, Ephemera and Vintage images from fabrics & postcards, as well as, contemporary digital images and art. Today, JLynn continues to add to her line of woods shapes, sizes and styles which all start from freshly cut, clean wood in a variety of geometric shapes. They range in size from the "mini 1/2" ART tiles to our large pendant focals of 1 1/2" to 3". Her ART Tiles are unique, lovingly created one at a time, and come with double sided images on both sides, finished in JLynn's own professional fine art Florentine style decoupage method that include advanced special effects in painting, gold leaf, pyrographics and more. JLynn's ART tiles are highly recognized for their beautiful smooth wood burned bevel edges, and high quality, excellent finish. Having been working with wood since the mid-80's, it wasn't long before JLynn introduced her line of "Embossed" ART tiles which feature pyrographic embossed and engraved images in wood - then finished in a variety of fine art finishs with paint, inks, and stain. And our LATEST...which started as an experiment over a year ago, and followed by more product development - our ART TILE BEAD line is here! Enjoy an extensive line of Chunky tile BEADS created in Rectangular, Square, Circle, Oval & Heart shapes, that are 3/16" thick with an INTERNAL drill hole ~ perfect for your Stringing and Wirework designs.
